When a UK bottled water supplier was constantly being let down by a German crate supplier they turned to KLE Plastics. The crate in question has a carrying handle and the client couldn’t find a similar product produced in the UK and could wait up to 4 months for a delivery from Germany.

KLE agreed with the client that with a confirmed order of 10,000 crates over a 24 month period we would get a new mould manufactured to a similar design and could guarantee supply of crates within a week of orders.

Not only was the client delighted to have a reliable local supplier, but the cost of transport and reduction in carbon footprint due to the local supply was a big bonus.

A leading cheese maker in the UK had a catastrophe when a forklift hit the racking in their storage warehouse causing a domino effect and resulting in damage to structure of the building leaving it condemned. This resulted in 70,000 cheese boxes being lost and our urgent help was sought.

We dedicated a moulding machine to the sole task of making replacements 24 hours a day over 2 months and the cheesemakers were delighted to be back up to full capacity so quickly.

Reusable return crates for glass bottles

Making recycling easier

With all eyes on the environment and pollution from single use plastic many drinks suppliers are looking to use glass reusable bottles rather than plastic.

We were approached by a spring water supplier that wanted to deliver water to their clients in glass bottles and collect the empties to reuse and avoid disposable packaging. Their only dilemma was that they didn’t want hotels and restaurants returning empty wine bottles to them.

We worked with the client to design a new crate that would be shorter than a standard wine bottle so that only their water bottles were returned for reuse.
